Architectural modernism and it’s five basic principles

To create architectural shapes is human. All the things ever built, analyzed and classified by mankind in the world are history now. But only the things which are being created today, in today’s manner and with today’s idea of architecture, using today’s structures and decoration materials, can be among recognized masterpieces of modernist architecture, provided that, of course, their concept is brilliant.

An object of modernist architecture is characterized by purity of absolute shapes. It is an object, you can accurately determine the functional purpose of, while looking at it. Such object should be a certain structural composition, in which the exterior finish materials have their logical continuation in the interior space and are a strong emphasis in perception of the interior space. Everything which is of certain interest outside the object should necessarily repeat in the building’s interior, thus highlighting the object’s purpose and providing a common approach to solving the exterior volume and interior spaces. Flawless proportions in the ratios of planes and openings should be found. Innovative technologies and designs should be applied, and the latest finish materials should harmoniously combine with natural objects.

Of course, at the very first stage of work on a modernist architectural object, one should accurately define positions for art objects, thus outlining visual emotional axes in order to create a special intellectual environment. Today, without this synthesis of architecture and modern art, it is impossible to create modernist architecture and contemporary living environment.

No matter what country such architecture is built in, it should easily match the local environment and colouring. All this is done for a person to assure him/her that he/she himself/herself, as well as his/her harmonious existence with the society and nature are the most valuable things in the world.

Taking the above into account, I have deduced five basic principles of architectural modernism.
